Hi, I am new to this forum (so hello all) and i had a quick question about my black molly. I believe shes pregnant, she has an extended large belly (noticeably larger than the other 3 black mollys i have.) I moved her into a breeders net about a month ago thinking she would give birth at any point. Well she still hasnt and she is only getting larger. Is there a chance shes not pregnant and somehow just fattened up faster than the rest of the mollys? (i have a 2 male and 2 females) thank you

:hi:
I'm having a similar issue with one of my minnows, will keep an eye on your responses!

I would take her out of the breeder net. She should be pregnant for about 28-31 days. When she's ready to drop fry she will square off in shape, start looking for quiet hiding places, other fish might follow her a bit. If the tank is heavily planted & has floating plants it'll help her feel secure. I prefer to either leave fry in the tank or catch them and put them in breeder box. Leave mom in main tank where she feels safest.

Pictures of the fish?

It could be full of worms.
What does its poop look like?
Normally the poops are just fine I’m color but there have been times where it was black, could that be the worm? I’ve had her for 3 months and she’s never shown symptoms for disease

She currently is very squared off and the reason we put her into the net was because she was getting constantly chased by the male

Keep an eye to make sure she isn't stressed. Hope you get fry soon

coloured poop is fine.
stringy white poop is a sign of internal problems like worms or infection.
