I have a male red wagtail platy that likes to spend alot of time at to top in the back right corner where he blows bubbles, just like a betta, only they don't last and accumulate. I haven't been able to find any reference to this behavior and was wondering if this is normal or a sign of illness or stress. He does do some swimming around and seems to be eating normal amounts. The rest of the fish are fine. Thanks in advance............

Are your water stats ok? It could be that he is slightly troubled by either a slight rise in ammonia or a slight lack of oxygen. More likely perhaps, he may be slightly stressed out: he is in a small tank without another fish whose behaviour he can relate to, and a school of extremely lively fish taking up most of the surface area. My platy male went a bit funny when he had to share a tank with corys only- he clearly felt very lonely.
