How many Oscars could get along peacfully in a tank somewhere between 75g and 125g? Thank you. My freind has two in 70g. Just wanna know if it's ok.

Most people recommend 1 in 75gallons maximum.

generally only one will be okay in a 70g,anything more and he could have huge ammonia problems.

First of all, it's important to keep in mind that 'a pair' and 'two' are completely different issues. A 75 gallon is no problem for a pair of Oscars as far as space goes, but you would need excellent filtration and must always be on top of maintenance. The 125 gallon would certainly be the better option. Randomly choosing two Oscars is asking for trouble - chances are pretty good that they'll eventually turn on each other, especially in the smaller tank.

In my LFS, they always have Oscars in the same tank, nothing else, so if I had to get Oscars, I'd get them from there, besides, they sell Albino Tigers quite cheep. :hey:

Are the Oscars fullgrown? Cause if you are talking a tank of juveniles, then all Fishstores keep them in one tank. The problem being as they mature the Oscars temperment develops and the chances of them getting along as adults is very slim. I have had my Oscar and Jack Dempsey for about two years now and my Oscar has just in the last couple months shown an increase in his aggression. :( Hes picking on my poor sailfin Pleco.

They got mostly juvies, but they got these huge ones that I'd say are over a foot long.
