Hi I read somewhere that Mollies have to live in 20 gallon or more they can not live in ten gallon. I had mollies in ten gallon before. Why do they need to be in 20 gallon or more?

Depending on they type of molly, they'll need more room to grow and more space to swim.

You could put them in a 10 gallon, in the sense that you could put anything that physically fits in a 10 gallon, but it's not exactly fair on the fish.

Mollies get to be a decent size when kept in the right water and given the right foods, 5 fully grown healthy mollies in a 10 gallon is madness, and even just one wouldn't have much room to swim - and as anyone here who keeps them will tell you - they are active fish.

Though low-quality store-bought mollies don't seem to get nearly as big as their wild counterparts, a ten gallon is still too small.

I have 4 mollies in a 10gallon QT tank. Just for another week anyway. I can tell they want more room! They're looking out the side of the tank and swimming around fast at times. (not in a sickly way) They can get to be 4 inches I believe. They need room to swim.
