Okay, I purchased an air stone and I notice that my guppies are swimming up and down in the bubbles really fast. Are they freaking out or just having fun playing in the bubbles? At first I thought they were playing but they swim into each other and I'm worried will they injure themselves. They eventually swim out of the bubbles and go to other places in the tank, but then they head back to the bubbles. Is this playing or do they hate the air stone and what I take for playing is really their attempts to destroy the airstone? :/

I think it's nothing to worry about. My fish, (everything from the Silver Dollars to the Corydoras to the Knife fish) play around in the bubbles. They seem to have a good time, so I wouldn't worry about it.

edit: Typos

Thank you so much for the help! When they aren't in the bubbles, they seem perfectly fine, so I suspect my water is okay and they are just having fun with their new "toy." They seem to have figured out how to avoid running into each other now when in the bubbles, so I guess they are only playing. I did a water change not to long ago and the stats were fine, but I'll check again to be sure. :) Thanks again!

my mollies adore the bubbles as does my betta- weird betta- but the mollies are always playing in them.... even the fry do once they can master not being had by the larger bubbles :)

I remember when I had goldfish and I had to replace the water in their tank, they always swam towards the bubbles. So did my gourami and now my platies. I just think fishes like bubbles. ;)

I think they are struggling in the bubbles and they come out then they go back there to the other side but still struggle to the other side. B)
