How much does it cost to fix a 135 gallon tank seam? And do what types of places repair these things? Also if the glass is painted a bluish/slate color can this be removed easily?

Whats broken on it? if its just leaking, then it's wicked easy. If the glass is cracked, it's a little harder. Either way, you can fix it yourself. In the case of a leak, just use a razor to remove the offending silicon, than reapply some silicon. Or if the glass is broke, just have a pane cut to size, and then silicone it on. cheers

Its actually jsu the seal. Is this something you do yourself? How much does the stuff u hav to buy for it cost? Also my second question is can u scrape off paint that is onthe tank?

The silicone should be available at any lfs. There may be cheaper alternatives available at a hardware store. Perhaps a regular here can suggest if this is a good idea and what product to get or avoid. As for the paint, first thing to try would be a razor blade. Be careful and use a good sharp blade. It may come off that way quite easily if you are fortunate. If it doesn't go well, post back - don't scratch it up. ;)

Here's a great post that will explain about repairing a leak in one of the joints. Click this. Lowes sells aquarium safe sealent in the big tubes that fit in caulk guns, so since the tank is so big, it would be better to go that route then trying to buy a bunch of the little tubes they sell at wal-mart. Good luck!!!

I beleive theres a sticky thread at the top of the "do it yourself" forum that tells you how to repair tank seams.
