Question About Betta With Other Fish

Oh and the angel probably eat the neon tetras you were talking of.

Some just cant read as better as others i guess.
I clearly stated that the neons went missing before the Angels were introduced.
The angels are quarter sized right now, no way a neon is fitting in there mouth at the moment anyways.

I have just read this thread and would like to add;-
People are giving you decent advice so there is no need to snap.

Now for advice: I have had 8 bettas in total, and all thier personalities were completely different to each other. Some were more laid back whereas some where extremely aggressive.

A male betta should never be housed with another male or female. Female bettas, however can be housed with other females. This is called a sorority. Min. of 5 females are needed in a 10G aquarium.

Your old male betta, might have got stuck behind the filter? Jumped out? etc. They are to curious for thier own good.
Keep an eye on your new betta, Tetras are notoriusly nippy fish, and bettas are best housed in there own tanks with shrimp or snails as tank mates.

yeah, just jump my case.
Dont let the thought pop into your head that im a responsible fish keeping that is TRYING to sort out a problem and find what is RIGHT for the betta's.

Anyways.
tried the female in the 55, 2 serpae's went after her and immediately started attacking her.
Sure the male wont work?

We had a male in there before but it was before the angels were added.
The male went missing about 6 months after adding him to the 55.
15 neons also went missing.

We missed the betta, and picked up a male, while at the fish store we got interested in the females and were told we could keep
how ever many females we wanted with the 1 male. News to me.

When i put the female in the 55, one of the angels swam over but showed no interests in her.
He swam off and minded his own. 2 Serpae tetras came along and went on a nipping spree, i about crapped down my leg.
Only took a few seconds for me to get her in a net.

definitly the female in the 55.! there is a lot of care info in the stickies in the betta section too:)

Definitely yes if i want her to die.
But i do care about her and am not that cold hearted, sorry.
can not do that.

glad you were able to save her. was just trying to help out. i wasnt trying to imply that you didnt care about your fish.

If you wern't concentrating on sounding like such a little know-it-all, smartass, snob maybe it would have been CLEAR.

Glad we were of some help. :grr:

woah major cat fight here - I'm trying to read this and can't for all the handbag slaps!

to the OP, What female type is she? Offer her in the US livestock section, someone will take her especially if she is a noce tail type.

tbf, I have had MANY community tanks with male bettas and it could work for you. Some tetras can be nippy, and I know angels are, bit there is nothing saying it couldnt work.

Let us know how you sort it :good:
