Question About Baby Fish

hello everyone i am newish to fishkeeping.
i was changing my tank around and found some baby fish, they must be fighting fish as there the only females in the tank, i seperated 2 baby fish into a breeding tank, a couple got eaten in the proces.
how many babys do fish normally have? cause i could only find 4.

there is a picture of them in (plants and planted tanks) ken25 if you would like to have a look, i dont know how to put pictures in this section
any help would be great

I see you have 12 Platies in the tank, more then likely one of those is a female. The baby fish picture also looks very much like a platy baby. Does your fish look like this:

Or this:

If so, it's a platy.

As a side note, I see you have male and female fighters in the same tank. Are they together? If so, it's best to seperate them, as the male will kill the females. They should only be together when you are breeding, and that should be in a controlled, prepared enviroment.

hi yes it does look like that.
i know about the fighters and am buying a small tank for the male tommorow as someone has already pointed it out on this site. when i bourght the plattys the person in the shop said they were all males, is there any way in telling between males and females?

Yes, it is very easy. Look at the anal fin, if it looks like a fan, it is female. If the fin looks like a rod (called a gonopodium) it is a male. Sometimes you can also go by size, depending on how old the fish are, and the females get even bigger when pregnant, making them easier to spot.

you were right annastasia they are platys i found one in my internal filter i dont know how long its been in there but he looks just like his mum
