So I'm going to use my 30 gallon for a future quarantine tank for my future south American puffers, but I want to make sure that it is safe first. See, a few months back we had a fish bring a disease into my saltwater tank, and we had set up the same tank for treating them. The medication was copper, and the fish were in it for maybe a week before they died.
Well, the tank sat in the garage for nearly two months. Uncovered, tank still half full and full of assorted dead bugs and salt. Today, I emptied it and scrubbed it clean with rags and water. Do you think it's copper and salt free? I won't be getting the puffys for another few Weeks, maybe longer, and I want to go ahead and treat them for ich and anything else before they go into their new 55 gal. When the time comes I'm going to take one filter off the fifty five and put it on the thirty to cycle it. Planned on just leaving the tank bare.
Do yall think it will be safe for them? What else can I do to make sure?
