I'm going to get a quarantine tank because last weekend adding some guppies to my tank caused all but one of them to die along with several of my existing fish.

My question is, how do I keep a quarantine tank cycled? Should I use some existing filter media and add Ammonia routinely when no fish are present?

You dont have to keep a quarentine up if no fish need to be quarentined. Just keep a small amount of extra media in your normal filter and when you need the quarentine, move the extra media into a filter for hospital tank, add fesh water, and a heater. Once the tank is warm and the filter has run for awhile, add the fish :good:

When the tank is unneeded anymore, simply throw out the media (if you were treating an illness) drain out the tank and clean for the next use :good:
