Hi Guys,
I have learnt over the last few days that it is an excellent idea to have a quarantine/hospital tank at the ready fr new fishees as well as sickly ones. I have ready the pinned post and am liking to invest in a little tank for this particular area.

My question relates t the filter media. I have read in various psts that it is perfectly accpetable to keep an extra piece f filter media in the filter fr this very thing.

Is it ok just to put the media in and whenover it becomes needed take it out and add it to the filter f the quarantine tank?
Also, when the quarantine is over, what do you do with the media? Can you reuse it after washing it? Or is it best to get a new piece and start the process again the main tank?

Thanks

I think its best to throw away the sponge after it use so you are not spreading desease about.

That's what I thought, but wanted to get confirmation. As you are in the UK, what type or relatively cheap and small tank would you recommend?

Try lfs can get good deals there.
Ebay or look in local newspapers, or car boots.
