pvc pipe??

Ive seen some pvc pipe in tanks in some pictures that have some sort of moss growing on them. what type of plant is this and how do you get it to grow on the pipe?

It most likely was java moss. You would have to use fishing string or some other means to secure the moss to the pipe.
