Hey all :)

I was wondering if anyone has any tips for a good way of putting water back into a fish tank? Every time I do a water change I worry for the lives of my fish as I tend to pour the water into the tank from a bucket. I've tried syphoning it back in, needless to say it didn't work :D

So would anyone be able to give me some advice?

Thanks,
Splatter.

Just bucket it in slowly, fish arnt as weak and fragile as they seem and can withstand a little shower of clean water ;)

This is what i do.

I get a siphon and a 18gal rubbermaid container.

I sipon the water into the bucket until its about 3/4 full.

Put the lid on. Drag it into the bathroom and dump it down the tub.

Then I fill the rubbermaid back up with clean water.

Drag it back into my room.

and use a bucket to fill from the rubbermaid to the tank.

Its really easy, and reduces the ammount of trips from the sink o the tank.

What the hell is a rubbermaid? Sounds like somthing old men go to bed with...

HAHAHA. i love you guys its a plastic container. uhh

clear things up?

I guess a rubbermaid means different things in the UK, than it does here in the US. ;)

BTW, I generally use the hose to fill up the tanks, unless it's my smaller ones, which I use the bucket. The fish seem to like the current.

Pour the water at one end, if the fish don't like the current they will go to the other end of the tank. I use a hose as well, the fish move if the current is too strong, more often than not they end up messing around with the flow.

Fill a large 1L measuring jug with water. Lower water filled jug slowly into water, once immersed, tip jug up & remove.

No disturbance! :shifty:
