Purchased the Yellow Labs yesterday

My brother kindly took in my Angels, Tetras and Barbs as he was re-stocking his 55 Gal (UK)

The new residents seem to be settling in ok. Im gonna get some more rock today for them.

My Pleco seems to be much more active since they dropped in, he must approve

Anyway here is a shot or three...

First the Tank

Cos it's a 30Gal i stuck with four. I seem to have got one male and three females.

Tempted to go get a couple more but dont want to push it.

Got some more rock today too.

they are too young really yet to sex. even sub dominant males look like females for quite some time...and vice versa

if you are sexing them by the black stripe that is not an accurate way. the only effective way is to vent them. at this age they are harder to sex by the vents, due to their size.

Ok so i will have to sit back at wait a while yet.
I (wrongly) assumed as one looked stockier and more black on his/her fins that he was a male. Im just enjoying having cichlids atm. Cant wait for em to grow

I wouldn't really worry about the sexes of the labs unless your planning on breeding them

Well i am an absolute beginner really, but was kinda hoping that they just might get it on one day

Breeding fish has to be the most satisfying part of fishkeeping imho. I'd love to do it
