HELP
My Juwel 600 pumps stopped working last nightand the only pump I've been able to get is the Fluval 3+ but this uses different filters from the Juwel. I don;t want to put a new pump and filters in for fear that the bacteria level of the tank will kill the fish and equally, the Juwel uses 2 course blue, 2 fine blue, a carbon and a wool filter pads whereas the Fluval 3+ uses 2 white course filters and a carbon / wool if desired. If I were to cut the existing filters down and use then in the Fluval would it work? and if not how long can the tank go without the pump? I have an airstone and have not fed the fish since it stopped working. Should I wait and try to get a Juwel 600 pump replacement or adapt the Fluval?
Not sure what to do and don't want the fish to die.
Your help & advice is appreciated.
Thanks
M

Cut the juwel sponges up and add them to the fluval.

thanks for the advice. Should I use the course or fine sponges or a mixture?

A mixture.
Have you tryed removing the impellor and cleaning inside with a toothrush.

Yes - I've taken it apart and cleaned it. Also got the motor checked out at work who have said there's no circuit so the motors fried!

Ok then, good luck.
