Hi could anyone please tell me the type of puffer fish this is

isit a freshwater puffer?

if so there are only a few puffer fish that can be kept in a tank
their is the figure of 8 puffer
the dwarf puffer
or the...
green spotted puffer

all are brackish water fish and arent really a good choice for the aquarium, as they look cute and cool when they are young but as they get older people find out just why there so hard to keep as they are very aggresive towards each other and will happily attack other fish that are slow enough like...gourami's, or angel fish
and take chunks out of their fins...which leads to possible infection and possible death... :( which isnt nice lol
my gf wants one...but ive insisted that its not gonna happen in my tank as they are very unreliable fish...
and they can cost anything upto 100 pounds....just for one fish!

Dwarf Puffers are actually freshwater, along with a number of other puffers commonly available including the South American Puffer and the Mbu puffer etc..

Also most puffers are best kept in a species setup due to their fin nipping nature and/or toxicity so adding them to community setups that contain slow moving fish is an obvious no no.

Most smaller species aren't particular expensive either.

To the OP, i'm not sure what you are referring to by dscf2652 so you will need to link to a image or similar
