My mbuna cich has suddenly developed this today. I did a partial water change 2 days ago and have tested water parameters which are ammonia and nitrite nil. He has no other symptoms and the water is snail free thanks to the 2 clown loaches. Don't know what to do, can anyone help please?

If your water stats are good, then it is most likely the pop is bacterial in which case you can use "Anti internal bacteria" med by Interpet or other similar meds to treat it; the cloudy eye is usually a side effect of pop eye and will most likely disapear onec the pop eye has cleared up  .

I agree, watch the fish also as popeye is related to dropsy.

Melafix is more for the outside of the fish it an antiseptic treatment, try that for a few days and if it dosn't clear you will have to get anti internal bacteria med, good luck.

No i would advise using a med like the one mentioned that is designed to specifically kill internal bacteria as i do not think Melafix is capable of treating it. The Interpet med is good as it will kill off any other forms of internal bacteria that can lead to other deseases such as dropsy and ulcers and i have had much success with it.
It should clear the pop eye up within about 4 days

He's no better despite interpet antibacterial meds. :/ I've done 2 water changes since but his eye is still cloudy plus his stomach looks thin and kinked upwards. I fear I'm going to loose him. Should I isolate him? Have got a 30 litre which has extra airstone plus fluval filter. Any suggestions?

Can you post water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, what size tank, how many fish and which type, the cloudy eye could mean there is something else wrong, what does it look like when the fish goes to the toilet, can you issolate the fish and can you describe the kink abit more do you mean bent, as its not sounding good by that discription, how thin is he.

R.I.P. little guy sorry for your loss.
