Trying to find out what my only dark African is...

Pseudotropheus Sp"zebra Long Pelvic" Chesese? Maybe female? The fish is one of the older tougher fish. I thought it was male because of it's aggression (majorly), but since viewing pics here, it looks female..

I'm also going to post a pic of ther other type.. Any ideas? I can't find a pic similar.

I'd say the first pic is a male Metriaclima sp. "zebra long pelvic" and the second is a male Metriaclima estherae, looks a bit pale though that could be the flash.

Thanks dthoffsett! I am taking your word for it, because I've still not discovered the answers to any of them..:) Do you think the second is male also? I have 6 adult and they all act "male-ish"..

Oh the second one is definitely a male, they tend to be paler than the females and the abundance of egg spots is also a clue, while egg spots aren't necessarily a reliable way to sex, females rarely have more than 2 or 3. I'd even venture to say he's the dominate male, am I right?

He's the dominate male in his area. He took the nicest cave and has claimed it as his own. But he doesn't really go into the other guys space. I'm going to post a few more pics. If you get time, you can let me know what you think about their sex or any other information. They may be poor quality fish. I don't really know. But I'm not planning on selling any offspring and I'm very pleased with them, so that's all that matters to me ATM.. ;) This is a pic of yellow/gold fish "B".

Please tell me they all aren't male. There had to be a female sometime though. We have 14 babies/juveniles right now. So far, the dark one, AKA "Gill" :D is male probably. My favorite, AKA, yellow/gold A pretty boy Floyd is probably male.. And I'm guessing both white are with all the egg spots. The other two gold I'm hoping have a possibility of being female.. :hey:
