Does anyone have any info about this species?

Saw it in my LFS today and thought i'd check it out before purchasing.

Any good links to profiles as i'm struggling to find much really, perhaps it has a more 'common' name I could search for?

Also they tagged the tank as 'Pseudotropheus Macrophthalmus Yellow'

thanks in advance

In my Ad Konings book I looked up Ps. Mac. and it pointed me to Tropheops sp. "Macrophthalmus", with one of the trade names as Ps. mac. yellow.

Here's a link

Here's another possilbility.

What do you think?

I looked at that and it looks nothing like the one in the store.

I didnt realise, my mate had taken some pics! I've just quickly rough edited them, so i've cut out each fish so you dont get confused with background fish.

I've wrote on 'male/female' as to what the LFS said they were (they were spawning at the time)
Male was orangey coloured and had eggs spots, the female was a strange milky grey colour with red/various colour patches.

The cichlid section in my LFS has a bad habit of getting the labels mixed up (not good) so this could be an entirely diff species haha, here's the pic!

Your LFS certainly has that one mis-labeled.

I'm inclined to think they're hybrids of some sort, I've searched until I'm cross-eyed but I can't come up with anything like them. To me they are very poor imitations of either metriaclima barlowi or labidochromis textilis. They're certainly not "pure" species of either, but to me those had the most similar features.
