hey i am planning to get two Pseudotropheus demasoni cichlid for my 20 gallon. i heard they are dwarfs and the only cichlid i can keep in my tank size. Though i have 7 green tigers, will they be compatible?. Please suggest some other fish I can keep with Pseudotropheus demasoni. Also Can i have one Jewel cichlid for my tank too ?

crunch7, you cannot keep these in a 20 gallon tank. They either need to be kept as a single fish or in large groups to cut the aggression. You would also need alot of stone/rock formations to allow them spaces to hide.

20 is too small
i keep a trio of demonsoni no issues tho in a 30 gal

what are green tigers? if they are barbs i wouldnt keep malawis with em

HAhaha too bad i DON`T OWN this setup nor DO i have any current info how the fish are doing. BUt i will pass on your warnings for sure. But one thing remains valid, this guy is keeping it for months now and that jewel was such a QUIET BABE XD..

I only have seven green tigers and 2 mystery apples for my self in my 20g. I am much into plants now and will try to get some corys to take care of the mess that these mystery snails make.

The demosani with eat the tigers and demolish the snail. You are better off without them. You really should research the fish before trying to cram a bunch on incompatible fish into such a small tank. Cichlids should really only be kept with cichlids, and demosanis should be a species only tank.

I don't care about your business associates Jewel. She may be quiet. He got lucky. They are normally holy terrors that will eat anything you put in the tanl. Not only that, they will go through periods of non aggression before getting froggy again. i have seen it time and time again. And just because it works for someone doesnt make it right.

Think of the fish....don't just think about what you want.

HEy how many corys should i get to take care of their mess? just remeber 20 g 7 tigers and two snails will be there and lots of plants

No cories if you are still planning to add cichlids. If you are keeping JUST the tigers and the snails, 6 should do nicely. If you add the demosanis against our advice, the cories will get killed.

:hey: who said i am adding those demons to my tank, noway, i will get an oscar if i ever buy a 55g+.
