I have quite a few plants in my aquarium, I haven't done anything specail to them, just add plant food weekly. I am a beginner and want to know how to prune them to keep them healthy and so they don't take over my tank.

I know this doesn't help, but apart from Java Moss on a bamboo cane and on a cocomut cave, I don't know what they are!

If anyone has any tips on how to prune them back without killing them I wold very much appreciate it!

Stem plants can simply be pruned with sharp scissors. The cuttings can be re-planted or discarded. Once the stem has been pruned many times it can be uprooted, pruned, and then the top portion re-planted.

If the plant has a rhizome i.e. grows in a rosette then the leaves can be pulled off as near to the rhizome as possible.
