Some of my plants are getting really big, and I guess its time to prune them. So before I take a scissor and go *snip, snip, snip* I wanted to ask a few questions.
1) Bacopa Moneri: This is the main plant getting really tall. Is it safe to just snip it from the top? A demented biology teacher once told me that if you cut off a plant's growing shoot, it will die. Is this true? (Well, the teacher is a bit demented, as I said...)
2) If I can just go ahead and snip the top, can I use the cuttings to develop a new plant? will they grow root-nodes if I let them float in the water?
3) Hair grass: This thing grows faster than my hair...
So I have to mow the lawn. Can I safely trim the long shoots without worrying?
4) Echinodorus Ozelot: (Red Banana): Is it better to cut the long leaves right from the base above the substrate? Or is it better to leave some distance from the substrate while cutting?
I just wanted to be sure, so I don't make a mess..
Thanks.
