Pruning Ambulia

I have ambulia growing in my Mum's & Fry tank, the plant has grown so much that it is covering more than half the surface of the water (makes it hard to fish out new borns!).

Can it be pruned? If so, how? Can I use the prunings as new plants? If so, how?

Trim the stem to a few inches below the water level. Push the base of the cutting into the gravel/sand. Over time the cutting will root and the cut original stem will grow new shoots at the top. Same goes for most stem plants.
