Protozin

Hi i have ich in my tank (See sig for fish etc)
I have just brought some PROTOZIN from my lfs, he says this will be fine for all the fish in there, but he said hes unsure about the 2 african dwarf frogs.
Has anyone else used this med?
Is it good?
Anyone used it with frogs in the tank?

I havnt used the Protozin in my tank with the African Dwarf Frogs in but I have used Myxazin in there and they were fine. Myxazin can be used to treat ich and to be honest I find the myxazin will shift cases of ich that protozin cant.

hi ok, so do you think i should risk putting the protozin in with the frogs?
the label on the bottle doesnt say dont add if you have frogs. it says dont add with rays or crustaceans what do you think?

Protozin has been is fine with frogs in my experience

Protozin is a great treatment for Ich. The only thing i know about is treating scaleless fish... This means half doses if you have loaches and corys and the likes... However i would probably class frogs as scaleless so possibly only do half doses with frogs... i dunno maybe someone who has frogs is better to answer.

hi thanks for all the advice. i put 1/2 the stated dose of PROTOZIN in last night and another 1/2 dose a minute ago, ive got 2 more treatments to go, one tommorow and the last one on sunday.
all the fish and frogs still seem fine, although the rummy nose, that are infected still have the white spots on them. how long does it take to get rid of the ich?

I have an african clawed frog and when i treated with Protozin it caused excessive skin shedding. I emailed Waterlife and they said this hasnt proved to be a problem for them in the past but if it was a problem for me then i could use Octozin

I have just been using Protozin this week to get rid of ICH brought on in my neons by stress of moving and it has worked a treat. I have just put my 6th days treatment in and it seems to have totally cleared the ICH.
