protein skimmer

I was wondering if anybody runs a protein skimmer in there freshwater tank. I have one laying around, and if it will help I'd like to hook it up.

Standard saltwater protein skimmers wont work in freshwater as the water density is too low to allow the fine bubbles needed for effective skimming to form.
