Protein Skimmer/filter

Save your money and buy more salt for waterchanges, would be more efficient than using that thing ;)

unfortunately, i do not have ro water  do you think i can just run a whisper 10 on it then since the bioload wouldnt be that much anyways? if i can get away with running a whisper 10 on it with weekly water changes, i would probably just do that. people that reviewed it on reef central that were running it for like 5 months say it is pretty good. hopefully, somebody will reply fast because i have until tomorrow to decide, because i need this tank running by wednesday. i will probably try and get some live rock and a chunk of media from my lfs so hopefully cycling would be complete in a few days.

Read the pin on nems. A nem is not a good choice for first stocking. And certainly not if you can't get hold of RO water.

If you want to do SW then you need patience. You need to read the pins, ask a few questions, weigh up what you really want to do and go from there.

Agreed, remember that in saltwater systems, beauty takes time and research and disaster happens quickly with speed and haste.

i was planning on using the water from the bay. my lfs has a huge tank of filtered half moon bay and catalina island water. ill read up on the pinned topics later probably after i get out of school.
