Propagating plants

The batch of mexican oak leaf I got was kinda slim and long. It's starting to develop new shoots all the way down the stems. I'd like to have them shorter, and more dense. What would be the way to go about doing this?

Easy to propagate by side shoots or cuttings, which should be cut off and planted in the bottom.

So could I just cut the stems in half and replant each half?

Basically yes. You could float the offcuts for a better chance of success. After a few days floating they will produce new roots.

Hey what about dwarf sag, what's the technique for that?

Just let 'em grow. It sends out runners and carpets in no time. The sag in my 34G started off with about 4 small planlets, now look at it!
