This should put the argument to rest.

Fast swimming goldfish vs. Blue Marron.

Even more disturbing picture here, she left half her meal adrift somewhat alive.
WARNING: SEVERED FISH PICTURE

I should say this is only proof of bad tank planning! Why on EARTH would you put such small goldfish in with such a big crayfish?! Crayfish that size at the stores get fed rosy reds and goldies all the time! You can't blame them for eating a little goldfish like that.
Poor goldies. I do hope you've learned to only keep bigger fish who can fend for themselves in with crays of that size! :(

As a side note, the goldie may have already been becoming ill, or was taken by surprise, as they can usually outswim a crayfish. So the goldie may have been in trouble before the first bite was even taken. But, regardless...

I hope you euthanized that half eaten fish. That is absolutely disgusting. You should be ashamed.

Yup, ive told ppl about that before, but some peeps reckon fish are too fast for some odd reason.... :dunno: No dramas to me if they dont listen though!

Why was that goldy in there?

Oh I knew those fish would get eaten, that why they are called "Feeders".
(Not looking for a philosophical debate on the topic of live feeder fish)

The lobster is in her own tank, and those fish were in there on the recommendation of a few people at a crayfish forum.

Unlike fish that show bloated bellies when they've eaten it's hard to tell when a cray is hungry or underfed. Overfeeding crays causes shell rot and problems for them with water quality so this is a way to insure there is alway something to eat.

I made this thread for the newbies who ask

"Is it ok to put a crayfish in my community tank?" :-(

Ah, ok. I thought you were just posting because of some terrible disaster in your goldfish and cray tank
