Fish Fanatic
Hi, i posted this, originaly on a different section of TFF, i didn't realise there was an Invert section! Any help / advise is massively appreciated, before i embark on my new project!
Hi,
As you can probably fathom from the above, i intend to keep and, hopefully breed Crystal Bee Shrimp (CBS).
I am going to be getting a new Nano soon, and would like to use it to breed Grade A's and attempting to get them up to as high a grade as possible (SSS would be nice!!).
My plan is to go for a sand substrate, with peat running through the filter, to keep the pH low. I'm going to have a few bits of moss it there, also, for the little blighters to snack on.
Eventually, i guess, there will be a need for me to move on to more / bigger tanks. At that point, i'd be (possibly) looking to break down my current tropical setup (an AR620T, 127l) and using that as the main housing tank, with the nano for use as the breeder.
Anyone got any suggestions, advice or questions, please ask/tell away!
I will, once i get the tank, of course, be Journaling it, in true TFF fashion!
Should i cycle my water from scratch, in the Nano, or could i use the water and a bit of filter media from my already established tropical tank?
When it comes to breeding, do you know anything about selective breeding? The way i read it; I would start with grade A's (about 6, i think) when they have reproduced, if there's some grade S, i replace the grade A's, leaving only the S in the tank. And so on, and so on! I think
! Any ideas?
