hi.

My first attempt at spawning these...

got the tank set up, had female under jar.... male built huge bubble nest, The female has been in for 2 days.

I let her out this morning, she is barred up, and he is flirting...

Problem: He is wrapping himself around her, and when the deed is done, she is dropping away, frozen.

all well, i think, but i am not seeing any eggs being released, they keep "doing it" but no eggs yet.

do i wtch them, and wait, does it take a few times?

as far as i know, its first time for both

No-one

Upon watching them (as im frightened he will try to kill her)...

He seems not to have a "good grip" (pardon the wording  )
she falls away, and he stays wrapped for a second or 2.

i haven't successfully spawned yet, but from what i've read the first few times the male can fail to squeeze anything out, especially if its his first spawning as he has to learn the right technique.

ahhhh.

so do you think i should leave him there, or seperate and try in a few weeks?

if he's still trying and she's still willing let them keep trying. after all practice makes perfect!

LOL  Yes he is still trying, and she is letting him
