Problems With Moneywort

I have a money wort under my filter which produces a current. Every moneywort I put under it has its leaves malt could this be caused by the current also what is the cause of brown spots on the leaves of moneywort?

I would guess the brown spots are diatoms.

As for the filter question I can't answer as my Bacopa is not in front of the filter (sue mainly to it being a tall tank)

I find that with Bacopa it tends to suffer on old growth and once the new growth comes in I snip the old growth off and replant just the new growth and it flourishes from then on.
