I live in OKC OK USA and only know of one LFS besides the big box stores. The one, Aquarium Concepts, is not very clean and the owner is less than helpful. If you know what you want he seems to be happy to help but if you have more than one question he will literally walk away from you and go to someone else. I have met several people in Petsmart that have the same complaint. If anyone knows of a helpfull clean LFS please let me know.

I lived in Oklahoma City many years ago (back when the hippies hung out on Paseo St.) It's a big place and, while I don't remember where I shopped then, I'm sure you'll find other good independent shops.
Another place you can get local information is from an aquarium society. Members are usually happy to help and enjoy talking fish with everyone who cares to. I saw on one of your posts that you might need filter media. This is the place to ask. Here's a link to the one near you.
