Hello.
I recently bought a bunch of plants from ebay after deciding my 180l tank was bare with the couple of plants i had, after putting in around 6 bunches of 5 plants pretty much immediately i noticed my fish acting strange, it started with an albino cory flicking onto it's side real fast and then back upright again it would swim away and seem ok then do it again, this seemed to move on through my fish effecting only the catfish 1'st (flying foxs started doing it) and then my khulii loach started freaking out, it seemed as if something was annoying them.
After removing them they seemed to settle down and are fine now, i did a 30% water change to be sure.
The seller has a good rep and im a little confused really as i didn't expect any problems.
Do plants carry any parasites? or collect them in transit, The plants were rinsed before going in the tank.

The plants i got were
5 x Red water rose 5 x Polysperma 5 x Stardust IVY

5x Red Ludwigia 5 x Water Wisteria 5 x Amazon Swords

5 x Bacopa Large 5 x Vallis Torta 5 x Eldoea Densa

5 x Water Reeds
Any help/info much appreciated.

That's strange....It could just be the stress of the planting that's getting to your fish as opposed to the plants themselves? I can't think of any parasite that would have that effect almost immediately but i'm no expert....and anyway, removing the plants wouldn't remove the parasite, in any case.
My rainbow shark does that flashing thing when he's annoyed, i thought he had ich at first but it seems to be territorial behaviour because it usually involves him chasing anything within reach.....
Try planting a few plants after lights out without disturbing the fish too much....use a planting stick or similar to minimise hands in the tank. Introduce the plants gradually over a few days....don't forget that you're disrupting the territory of your bottom dwellers so it's likely that it will stress them a bit.
