I got 2 new heaters two days ago an set them both at 26 degrees I checked it der an the temperature is 27.5. I have the heaters on the back of the tank one at each end bout 4 inches stepped in from the ends with just the small nozzle for adjusting the heat above the water....
I changed the setting of both heater to 24 degrees der an the light on the heaters came on as to say it was heating the water again... The heater underneath my spray bar seems to be on a lot more the spay bar goes over 3/4 of the tank....

They are 2 x200watt heaters in a 350 litre tank an I'm looking a steady temperature between 25.5 an 26 degrees...

Can anyone help please....?

hi,

Just a personal experience, i had two heaters. 1 heater had to be set to 28C to give me 25C and the other heater when set at 28C gave me 30C so i had to turn it down to 23C to get 25C.

So 2 heaters working in totally different ways but have been designed and built to do the same thing LOL.

In the 8 weeks I have been into fish keeping, I have learn never to rely on the heater display and always go with the glass thermometer.....

Sorry I cant give you an exact answer your looking for but hope this helps....
