Problem With Plants Dying All The Time

Sorry dont really know how to upload pics onto the forum. Just mean like the light comes out brighter on the one half than the other on the bulb. I have the brighter half facing the water n the dull half facing the reflector on the lid. Make sense?

It makes sense but a new tube should be equal brightness on all 'sides', so it should not need to be rotated to get the best from it.

Its that bulb there, might not help, but ive just looked at the bulb n it is half n half, one side lets more light out than the other, it was like that when i got it. Sorry bout the confusion!!

I'm fairly sure that if I understand you correctly then that tube is not right, it should be even light from all sides of the tube....not that tubes have sides, or maybe they only have one side....pah

I know what you mean mate, they make some tubes with half the tube painted. You have it the right way round as in brighter side facing the water. The painted side still lets light out into the hood so an additional reflector would be good too.
Not sure if you've already got one though.

Cheers mate, yeah I have it the right way round n i do have a reflector, spoke to a guy at the lfs too!!
