hi
i have 2 dwarf gourami's and one has developed a lump on the corner of his mouth, sort of between the corner of his mouth and under his eye. i wasn't able to take a decent photo so i hope this description makes sense. i noticed it yesterday and have been watching him over the last 24 hours. it doesn't seem to be getting any bigger but i'm not sure what's caused it or what to do about it. the other fish is totally fine and normal.

1. Water parameters.
PH is fairly neutral, temp is about 28C

2. A full description of the fishes symptoms.
the fish is about 5cm in length and the lump is probably 4mm-5mm in diameter so its a reasonable size. he is still swimming around and eating ok.

3. How often you do water changes and how much.
40 - 50% every two weeks

4. Any chemicals and treatments you add to the water.
none so far

5. What tank mates are in the tank.
only the other dwarf gourami, both male

6. Tank size.
28L, live plants

7. Finally Have you recently added any new fish?
no

this tank has been set up for two months, and have had no problems with it so far.

i've never seen this on a fish before so i hope someone can give some advice, thanks.

cheers
lee

I take it the bump is pushing out from underneath. is it the same colour as the fish or is it white or red?

Nothing much can be done for bmps or lumps as they could be tumours.
Keep an eye on it to see if it bursts open or changes colour.

I would issolate the fish is the bump hard, or does it feel like it's filled with liquid, that type of fish are prone to bacterial infections, so you will have to feel the lump.
