Problem With Dwarf Gourami (parasite?)

I posted earlier on the site in the emergencies section but no posts, so was wondering if anyone canhelp me:

(This is my original post):

I noticed last night my dwarf Gourmai has this thing coming from below his body, i'd like to say worm/parasite but i'm not sure what it is. Last night i thought it was a poo but today i know it's not!!! Also around his fins area it looks bloated, i think it may be connected. I Have no idea what it is, he looks very laboured in his swimming and not really feeding. Picture below.

(It's the long bit coming down along the plant stem).

Afraid to say this, but almost certainly a goner. Please have a read of the pinned topic on dwarf gourami disease. These fish simply aren't (in my opinion) worth buying.

Ok cheers. It sort of seems a bit like this, but the thing coming out of it is weird no mention of it on the pinned topic. Thanks anyway, and always usefull to know.

I have an opaline gourami in the tank aswell. Do you think this could effect him or even the other tank mates.

i think opalines are more hardy so i doubt so.
