I have a breeding pair had them some months now and they were regular layers of eggs, i since moved them into a new room and the female hasnt been herself, shes constantly has stress bars and has lost a good deal of her weight and seems to turn her nose up at most foods i put in.

She looks healthy other than the loss of weight and stress bars.

Upto now i have tried esha 2000 over a 3 day course. still no change so today 2 weeks later i have tried a general tonic what is a broad spectrum med.

Since i dont know what is wrong with her this is the best i can do for now im going to do daily water changes over the next 3 days and see if she picks up

Tank is a mature tank that has been running for some months so thats not my problem.

Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated as im not quite sure what is wrong with her

the tank was wormed less than 2 months ago so i shouldnt need to be worming them just yet.

The tank temp sits around 28.5-29 degrees C what is a good temperature for them.

Well, from what you've said so far the tank should be fine. They do get shaken up when moved, and I have know some fish take 3 weeks to pull round. That said, the shorter the journey, the shorter the recovery span, so between rooms should be almost neglagable. I would have expected her to have pulled round by now, and be eating well again.

I would suspect something in the water, or internal parasitic, but without more information it's hard to say. Could you give us a run down of water stats please?

Regular waterchanges and low-light levels for now. I would also consider worming after moving a fish personally. This said, I'm a one-off-wormer type, I don't go for regular worming, only when my fish go through unusual stress do I worm them. Moving would be one such stress that I would worm for...

I assume you aren't seeing anything symptom wise??

All the best

Hi thanks ill get some water stats up tomorrow, ive been away working so ive probably missed any symptoms. Water changes normally take place once a week with a 25% change i vacumme everytime when i clean them.

Today i done a water change and also cleaned the small box filter i have running along side the sponge filter, as it was really clogged up and flowing slowly i added tetra general tonic and ill be doing a change again tomorrow.

I will also worm the tank aswell and try them with some pea's incase she is having trouble digesting.

thanks for the reply
