Problem With Cory

I think this is pretty serious. I finally got a picture today, but this has been going on for more than a week. I have just finished using melafix and it did nothing. He goes to the top of the tank every 1-5 minutes for air. It appears that the bottom of his mouth is completely missing!

Hey - melafix is really only a small cut remidy, it wont touch that.
I cant really tell from the picture, but if the fishes mouth has eroded away from bacterial or fungal infection its really too late to do much about it.

If the fish cant eat which I presume it cant I would put it out of its misery sorry.

I had a red eye with a similar problem, treated with anitbiotic med and it didnt touch it, then with Anti fungal which didnt help either.

If your really really serious about trying to help it, it might be worth asking Wilder as when its got that bad I wouldnt know how to treat.

I suggest isolating the cory if you can as he already has his bottom of his mouth missing against him. By isolating him he can be more stress free, and you can try to personally feed him, and not have to guess if he's getting food. Does he eat?

Sorry for the slow reply.

Yeah, he seems to be eating fine and going for the food. But not always hanging around with the rest of the cories. His behaviour seems fairly normal though.

If the mouth has gone completely I would end the fish misery.
Sounds like mouth fungus proper name columnaris which has rotted the mouth away.
