Hello,
Anyway, I have some questions regarding my 125G. It was fishless cycled, and has been up and running now for 4 months. My stocking list is as follows:
2 x Blood Parrots (both Female)
5 x Bolvarian Rams (too young to tell)
1 x Red Hump Eartheater (Female)
2 x Agassizi Dwarf Cichlid (M/F Pair)
I know the BP's will get large, but those are my favorite fish, and are the exception.
My problem is with my Apisto Agaassizi male. I just added him a few days ago, and so far he has been constantly chasing away the rams. (He's by far the smallest thing in the tank, and the most aggressive, go figure) It used to be just when they came into his cave area, but now he is chasing the rams from pretty much 75% of the tank. Not all the time, but enough that when I look over at the tank, someone is being chased. I'm worried that he will stress out the rams to the point that they get sick, and Don't need that, as my tank was doing great.
I'm trying to keep the tank as a "peaceful cichlid" community, with by BP's being big sissies, the Rams showing no aggression (except the random chase of one another) and the Red hump Eartheater female being completely docile.
What would you guys think if I just kept the female, but removed the male? Are there any adverse effects? (they sold them as a pair, and would not sell them any other way)
I know she's less colorful, but she's still cool, and I haven't seen her have any problems with the other fish. Should I give it more time?
Can anyone suggest any other cichlids that will actually be peaceful?
Thanks for your help guys!
