i have 2 female mollies in my tank, one of them really gives my dwarf gourami a hard time and will chase it quite alot of the time. the other female molly isnt quite as bad with it but will have a go from time to time.

i was told by my lfs that mollies were a great community fish and wouldnt bother any of my other fish. would puting a male molly in the tank help or would that just make things worse ?

they dont bother any other fish, just my gourami

I actually found the males are more pestering, my male sailfin molly always chased my gourami. I never had a problem with my females. But maybe if you get a male, he'll be distracted by the females and the females will be distracted by him and won't bother mr. gourami.

Mollies can be very moody fish and aggressive at times.

My Swordie females have always seemed to be too busy getting away from the males to have time to bother the other fish. Though they will take time to bother the smaller Swords when it comes to feeding. Right now I have all my Swords seperate from other fish since I raise the fry for sale. I think that Molies and Swords have similar personalities.

ive found that our little black mollie can be a bit nippy at times........ive seen her chasing our tiger barbs occasionally especially if theres food about.
