I have already posted this on the Tropical Fish Emergencies forum but thought I would post it here as well.

My tank has small insects / mites on the plants / water.

It is a 35 litre tank with a betta and some snails.

The betta is not showing any signs of ill health. The water stats are all fine as well. I keep the tank at 27c.

The insects / mites are tiny, to small to show up in a photograph.

Amybody got any ideas? How should I get rid of them?

I have had a zillion critters (Hydra, Planaria, Copepods, Aphids) in all of my tanks from introducing pond plants... they never got out of hand... the key is not to overfeed your fish. Your betta won't bother with the really small creatures (ie copepods), but just consider any larger bugs and a little diet supplement. Other than that they are totally harmless-- my betta likes to snap the aphids off my salvinia :)
