New Tank syndrome. The stress caused by the transport between tanks caused them 2 die. You know that shock you get when you dive into water @ different temp. to the air? Fish die from that - although they go from water to water.
Did you let the bag of fish acclimatise before you released them?

Did you cycle the tank, or just add in water from the old tank?

If you cycled it, I have to ask the same questions as Kribensis. Guppies are sensitive these days, you really need to make sure you acclimatise them for a long time. They can also just die for reasons that seem to be unknown. They have gotten so sensitive from all the inbreeding. :(

damn, problem solved, what a prat i am, i cant believe it     partner thought i had added cycle and viseversa, crap comms, no blasted fishless cycle performed. wot on earth do i do now? put them back into main tank i suppose? sooooooooooooo ANGRY-deep breathes and counting to 10

could i add some media from main tank filter to sort this?

Water does not carry the bacteria that is needed for the bioload. Bacteria needs to live on surfaces, like substrate, filter, and plants. Moving the water does next to nothing for cycling a new tank. Move your old filter to the new tank and run it for a few hours at a time. Your other tank should not suffer from a couple hours at a time without a filter.

all plants and substrate from cycled tank was put into these tanks, i cant put filter into these tanks as its too big, basically ive turned wot was one 60L into two 40L's, side by side, would just the contents of the filter be sufficient in the tanks?

Well, at least you have your answer! :)

The filter media will help a bit, yes. You will still need to keep a close eye on the water stats, and do water changes as needed. However, I would move the Guppies to a more stable environment, and then move them back once the tank is stable. Most Guppies don't do well with cycling.

Edit - Well, actually, it depends. Do you have any other fish in the tank?

yeah i do, 2 platy and 1 cory, 2 apple snails

I would personally be inclined to move the Guppies to the main tank, and let this one cycle and stable out. Just keep checking on it. However, if you remove the filter media from your main tank, do you have anything else that will keep that cycled? Moving them from one uncycled tank to another is hardly worth it. :p

i had kept the filter from my previous 60L tank in my 125L with another filter to keep it active so my 125L does have a filter, would it be wise to move all fish back to the 125L?
Checked stats again and no change all still perfect.
what should i do about the fry tank? fry are between 3 and 5 days old but they seem fine.
would like to say a big thankyou for your help and i cant believe ive made such a big mistake would be a shame to loose anymore as im in the process of developing a particular pink/yellow strain and its going fantasically well until now that is
