Pristella Tetras

I have 5 of these tetras in my tank... I tossed a tiny piece of algae wafer in there for the pleco, and the tetras went NUTS. they loved it. do they eat algae??? or were they just eating it because it was there?

My tetra's eat algae tablets, it's good for then, but i let it soak in a container than i crush it up so all the fish can get some.

Oo, that's a great idea I had no idea the tetras ate algae too. I'm guessing the Pleco will eat if he's hungry then?

Yes he will, i drop the tablet in for my plec when i turn the tanks lights out, it's gone in the morning.

There is more than just algae in the wafers so the tetras will eat it. As a general rule though, tetras won't eat algae except as a last resort (like if you went a week or 2 without feeding them).

they ate this morning, but they gobbled the wafer up.

My tetras pinch the granules I drop in for cories, its funny as they alway pinch the biggest piece and then go hide behind rock spitting it out n chewing it.
