Neolamprologus Brichardi, here's a link with some info:

LINK

A breeding pair should be just about OK in a 20 gal but as yours is a 20 High, i'm not so sure. What are your tank dimensions?

I have 2 of them but I cant get them together as they fight the moment they see each other. I've had to split them up now as they are very aggressive towards each other but dont seem to bother anything else.
I've even had to drop one in with my guppies as I have no where else that he can go and he doesnt bother them at all

Be very careful with these - get a group of them when they are young and see if any pair up - then get rid of the rest and keep those two as a mating pair

the dementions are 2ft long
*
1ft wide
*
18in high

WHAT ELESE CAN I PUT WITH THEM?
WHAT SHOULD THE TANK SET UP BE LIKE?

ps the website you sent me, the pic, the colors arent the same. dose that have a differenty name or it is just the fish? cause i like the picture i posted better

Yeah your pic is much better  but definately the right fish.

Your tank really isn't the correct type for these fish i'm afraid as they spend most of their time near the bottom of the tank where they will only have the 2 ft length. The top two thirds of the tank will not be used so there really isn't enough room for them, sorry. :/

you would be over run by fry from a breeding pair, as the form colonies.

why not get a shell dweller species. They are frm the same lake as the nrichardi, but they can go into smaller tanks. They also need the same water chemistry. And 2-3 shells per fish.

A Neolamprologus Brichardi is not a suitable fish for a 20 gallon high. They are active, and extremely territorial, and breed profusly. It would also, as mentioned, be a waste of a high tank since the upper levels would remain empty as they need to be kept without tankmates except in large tanks.

Shelldwellers are an excellent choice. You can keep a few of them, and they will ignore unthreatening non-cichlids, so you can go with some top and mid dwellers to spice up the tank. They have all of the charming character of any larger choices while fitting much more suitably into the tank.

LIKE WHAT THEN?????

Do a search in google on 'shell dwellers'. The first three results are worth a read.

thanks

but what about the top of the tank
wouldnt the shell dweller species stay at the bottom

usually all large tetras, and danios (but that tank is to small for them) are recomended to live with the shellies. They will be their dither fish.
