Priming Problem

I have an up and over filter on my tank. When I change the water, I switch the pump off and rinse it out as algae bbuilds up in the pipes.

Normally, I refit it together, replace and start the pump up. I prime it by pouring water down the outlet water starts coming back out. It then runs without a problem. Today, I have been battling for 20 mins plus to get it going, it won't work.

Any ideas?

Right it has suddenly decided to work now.

Still happy to have any comments or ideas.
