Price Of 2nd Tank

Hi I'm thinking of setting up a 2nd tank in my home and its probably a silly question but can someone tell me roughly how much more this would cost me on my electricity bill? Thanks

depends on your tank size, heater output, lighting...

That's a tough question to answer. You would have to compare bills before and after you set up the aquarium you have running now. Then, do the math, I suppose

Really the bills wont be hundreds more but the cost you should think about is the second tank and equipment.

ok. I recently went from a 29g tank to a 90g tank. the wattage of the lights went from 30w to 250w. I think the first month we noticed a difference of like $0.75. lol.

What you need to do is find out what the charge is to your house per kilowatt hour of electricity (if you call the electric company they should be able to tell you). Then you add up the wattage of all the equipment, and how long they run for. I think someone on here has a calculator... I'll try to find it.

Thanks for all your replies, at the moment I have a 125ltr juwell rio set up with comunity fish and have an empty 96ltr aqua one ar620 that I'm thinking of setting up for a small chilid? tank, but didn't want my electric bills to go too high. Tried to sell it but no luck and like the rest of you, an empty tank hanging around the house is just crying out to be cycled for more fish!!
