Hi all.

Im having a few problems with my co2 set up (ive gone through a whole 390g bottle in 4 days!!) Due to what happened i thought maybe i had the pressue to high and things.

However i replaced the bottle yesterday and the bar rating was aroung 52. On coming home today it now reads around 48. Im taking a guess that as the bar is dropping the less co2 is left in the bottle??

Im just wondering what could be wrong as im quite sure if a 2kg fire extinguisher will last around a year a 390g bottle should last more then 4 days!

Ive done all my fittings up as tight as i possibly can by hand as this is the recommened way to do it.

Im just not sure what to do next and im on the verge of giving up if its going to cost me silly amounts of money (£10 every 4 days no thanks....) to keep replacing the small bottles (i was expecting them to last a good 2 months at least) and it looks like it could have been a costly adventure thus far.

Anyone got any ideas :(

That is weird. It might be possible that you bottle is leaking. I would disconnect the bottle from the regulator and just let it sit for a few day. To see if it loses any pressure while not hooked up.

Well im on my second bottle and it seems to be losing pressure quite quickly as i say its gone from around 52 par to 48 bar in just over a day. Unless its a duff bunch of bottles at the shop...ho hum!

Try drizzling soapy water on your co2 connections and check for leaks.

I second that.
I'll bet it's a leak. :/

Shant be good if thats the case as everything is new. So i assume i should try doing the soap method on the connection to the bottle and the needle valve or could it leak from somwhere else to....?

check for leaks around the non return valve also, these are sometime the weak link in co2 setups

Have done this now andf have foudn two leaks so thanks to you i have located what maybe the problem. Where the needle valve was connected to the regulator it was leaking there (i got a plastic tube with my needle valve that i never used) so placed that in the hole and and have now done it up as tight as i can do it and that has stopped the leak there. Now where my co2 line is screwed on it seems there is a gap there (al be it very small so i will get some small rubber washers tommorow to plug that gap and then hopefully all the problems will be fixed.

Have done and they are all fine as you can see above its all down to the needle valve it seems so hopefully i now have the problem fixed and my co2 dosen't disappear so soon!

Shall update this thread in a few days to see if it has solved the problem.

Thanks to everyone for there help!
