Preparing Wood For My Tank

A good scrub under hot water and then left to soak in a bucket in the garden for a few weeks will do the job. in all honesty, i would say that kind of wood wont leak very much at all, i'd just chuck it straight into my tank and see what happens.

Scrub and chuck. If it floats then soak until it sinks (may be days or weeks) then chuck again. Or tie/glue it to a piece of slate.

ive boiled 3 different pieces of bogwood and never really had any sort of bad tannin release in my actual tanks, if anything Ive felt it helped get those tannins out before placing it in my tank. probably depends on the wood specifically, since im sure not all "bogwood" is the same.

OP that wood will be interesting to see in an aquarium, since as stated above, thats normally for terrarium setups.

pouring boiling water over the wood is good practice, it will kill any nasties that are on the wood. Obviously boiling for hours should be avoided.

You got it!!! lol, i'm going to pick it up on saturday when i go visit my parents..the suspense is killing me though, I almost drove up there last night just to get it..lol
