Hey guys my 2 female swordtails have been pregnant, ones in a net breeder and one is in the other tank with the male. Yesterday morning i woke up and found 2 babies in the net breeder, one of these i caught and moved and not sure what happened on the second one... later one i was very proud to actually witness a birth happening of one fry which i think fell into the bottom of the breeder, later i found another fry in there which also fell into the bottom of the breeder so i had 2 in the bottom of the breeder... she still looks very very fat and her gravid spot has hardly changed yet she has had no more visible babies.. could she have had some premature or is that all she had, also she has had about 3 sets of poo in one day which are very long and black.. is this normal and can i have some urgent advice please!!!

I think it's pretty normal. Livebearers store sperm and the eggs may not have been fertilized all at the same time. Mine have dropped 2 or 3 and a week later dropped more.

Mine have done exactly the same thing (platies, which are very closely related to swordtails). It will probably take her hours, if not days, to give birth to all the fry.
